The Nobel Literature Prize Is Politically Biased
In all seriousness, though, I do think that Kirsch is right when he says that Engdahl’s remarks raise the question that "the Nobel committee has no clue about American literature."
Perhaps they do and perhaps they don't. I don't know. But what Engdahl said at least puts it within the realm of suspicion. Either that or he's just happy to ignore the debt owed by a number of recent Nobel laureates to the American postmodernists.
