Essential NY Book

Time Our New York is trying to figure out the "most essential book to life in New York City."

What's interesting here is that they're doing it NCAA 64-book bracket style. Although I don't remember the name, I remember recently reading about a book arguing that the 64-place, head-to-head bracket was the most successful way to choose among a number of competing options. So, we'll see what this one comes up with.

I'm still reading the books from The Tournament of books (www.themorningnews.org/tob )
It's an interesting way to find new books that need to be read and compare my thoughts with those of well-known and respectable lit types.
