West Magazine

The LA Times is replacing their Sunday magazine with something new called West.

I don't know anything about it, but there are some familiar names that bode well for the venture. Amy Tan is literary editor. Mark Arax, who was 1/2 half of the duo who wrote the incredibly great King of California is among the senior editors. Contributors include Richard Rhodes, Rebecca Solnit, and Al Young. Maybe us West-coasters will finally have something to match up against The New Yorker? (especially if they provide it free online)
